North Texas Photo Excursions

North Texas Photo Excursions is a photography meet up group founded in March of 2014. We are a group of amateur and semi-professional photographers that enjoy exploring DFW. Occasionally, we have some guest professional photographers join our excursions that are more than happy to lend a hand with camera settings, composition, lighting, or other principles of photography. 

There are no fees associated with our meet ups, with an occasional exception for admission fees for certain events or establishments. We just like to enjoy the company of other enthusiasts. 

The founder, Jen Shelton, is herself an amateur photographer that has always had a love of photography, but recently developed a passion to learn more and combine her love of teaching to help others that want to learn more. We welcome all ages! 

Jen is also an amateur model, a pediatric RN and a former elementary teacher. She currently focuses her photography efforts on learning the camera settings, composition, and lighting, with an emphasis on nature, landscape, and rural settings.
